The Global Development Incubator (GDI) develops transformational development ventures, working to build and scale the next generation of social impact solutions. Whether these concepts originate from sector experts, or are developed and tested internally, GDI creates new approaches to address persistent global issues.
Why We Partner
GDI has a track record of excellent results. They’ve helped develop impactful social financing projects and worked closely with others in our funding ecosystem, such as Root Capital, to create meaningful systems change in agriculture and sustainable farming.
GDI’s systems-level approach and market driven solutions to improve the environment are in alignment with our philosophy. One of the main purposes of our philanthropy is to act as a catalyst for systems change–to test and experiment with different ways of building a better world. Real change happens when those experiments can turn into new ways of integrating better solutions into the global economy. GDI, along with their progenitor, Dalberg Consulting, has proven that this can succeed.
This grant provides seed capital to enhance GDI’s ability to discover new projects and develop them at a rapid pace. This is a five-year partnership that we believe will have long-term social and economic benefits for those most impacted by climate change.
